You want to know what type of truck your car will be shipped. If your car is new or expensive then you may want to consider covered trucks for they offer the best protection from the elements. Generally, transporters with covered trucks charge more, however the protection is worth the extra expense.

Another area you need to investigate is the rules the company has as regards to the car. Generally, it is prohibited to ship any personal items along with the car in the truck or back seat. The companies that allow this may charge extra per pound of goods. In addition, some companies require that you remove all non-factory standard additions, such as spoilers, racks, air dams, ect. If these items cannot be removed, you may be asked to sign a waver releasing them from any responsibility if these are damaged.
